Why is the doctrine of Anthropology the study of man?

Anthropology is called the study of man (instead of human beings, humanity, etc), because in Genesis 5:1-2, it is God who chooses the term "Man" to refer to the human race.

Because God Himself named the human race "Man", the use of this term should not be seen as diminishing the importance of women.
